As I leave Toronto, my heart is overflowing with the deepest gratitude for all the people who continue to inspire me with their dedication to the practice of yoga. Being back teaching in Sarnia was such a sweet blessing and reminder of a beautiful community who have come together in self-realization, self healing and friendship to, as a whole, make this world a more tender hearted and secure place.
I am feeling the importance of a dedicated yoga practice even more than ever in this sometimes very harsh world, yet; knowing the genuine beauty and limitless potential of human beings when they sincerely understand the gift and magic of this life, and the miracle that they are.
So many moments we squander away with unconscious, selfish, and self-righteous behaviour that only adds to the tireless separation of all beings and constant judgement and hatred that becomes like a terrible disease.
Coming together in community and friendship reminds me that we can combat the hardness, anger and hatred that exists on our planet. By merging together in heart, and by dropping our judgements, assumptions and just accepting each other as we are, we can dissolve the animosity and tireless tension that exists within humankind. Coming back to our natural joyous state of being is an undeniable gift to each other and to totality.
My heart breaks those moments when I catch myself not appreciating life's sweet abundances. My heart bursts as I marvel of the wonder of it all; when I look around and see all the phenomenon's and little pieces of heaven that we forget to regard and appreciate. It's all right in front of our eyes if we just open them, but instead, we so easily forget....walking around blind, as we become more rigid in our ways and in our thinking. We become our minds while our hearts, and our souls slowly suffocate, adding to the complexity and spiralling effect of living unconsciously; like a robot, completely limited, while humans are supposed to be limitless. We were born to radiate our uniqueness and be at peace with the natural flow of the cosmos. It is only when we become vigilant in our practice that we fall away from that less and less, and begin to feel the natural waves of existence and flow with them instead of against them. This is yoga, to unite, to recommit to being part of the natural flow of being a mortal being in a very mystical universe; and to remain conscious of all life's treasures, living fully, living truly.
With community coming together in acceptance and in gratitude we can soften the animosity and harshness and eventually dissolve it through example. Less talking, even less teaching and more leading by example. It's all in us...we are all students, we are all teachers...all headed to the same place.
So in this moment I am reminded of all the abundance in this life beyond anything material. I am reminded and reassured that the willingness to continually have the ability to consciously come back to your heart space, continually take in to account all your blessings, and never ever forget how perfectly imperfect we all are is the key to ending judgement of each other, and of self. Being the final conclusion to our own self sabotage.
It's a time to drop the intensity and continue to come together and say "I got your back", "I'll catch you if you fall", and giving each other the freedom to make mistakes and find the way without criticism. By doing that, we create a giant wave of ease, grow our confidence and become united.
We are all light, if we come together we can shine much brighter than one who stands alone. I am a believer in the good, the kind hearted and the merciful; but it takes our commitment and devotion, not only to a yogic practice, but to life itself. There are no limits to your human potential and never let anyone or yourself, tell you otherwise.
Grab someone and love them as they are. Give everything and expect nothing. Above all, be you...love you. The healing of this planet deserves our grace and our totality. This is the time to dig deep and love unconditionally...fully, entirely.
Let's free ourselves from ourselves and from the judgement and expectations of others. Let's rise into our greatest strengths and not shy away from our power.
